Hampshire Autistic Society is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
This website endeavours to conform to Priotiry 1 of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.
We offer a number of accessiblity features on our website:
Text scaling
All the text on the website can be scaled for those with visual impairments. This can be done using the three "A" symbols at the top of each page
Point symbols
By hovering the mouse over a word a small box will appear containing a symbol(s) illustrating the meaning of the word. This functionality can be turned off and on by clicking on the icon at the bottom of each page:
