Post-16 Education Video

Armstrong House is a residential and educational establishment for students aged between 16-19. It is set on a college campus and has facilities including an ICT suite, a teaching kitchen, a quiet area and art facilities. If offers up to 52 week provision for up to six students.

Armstrong House is situation in Southampton, very near Southampton Common. It has strong public transport links which assists us in helping our students become active members of the community. We specialise in the support and education of students who have a statement of special educational needs issued by their Local Education Authority and are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum. Students are educated within a large homely environment and in Summer 2010 we are hoping to have our own sensory room.

Each student at Armstrong House has an individual working programme, designed to meet their specific needs. The students follow individual timetables, which ensure that all students have access to a wide and diverse curriculum. Regular trips and activities in the community are an important component of the learner's development in order to support and reinforce their learning. Armstrong House has a dedicated, experienced and highly skilled team of staff who strive to support students in developing their skill to help them reach their full potential.
