Hampshire Autistic Society's provision for adults within the autistic spectrum includes a wide range of Day Services based at Anglesey Lodge in Alverstoke, Gosport.
The Anglesey Lodge Day Services Centre offers activities such as computing, art, pottery and creative cooking for 29 people. In addition we provide advocacy and opportunity to participate in the production of a regular newsletter.
We also encourage full use of local facilities, including various leisure centres, Fareham College, St. Vincent College, Bursledon outdoor activity centre and a variety of community facilities. Of course, with all the activities on offer, we take care to respect the individual and take their needs and wishes into account.
The Day Service Centre also works closely with our five residential homes and provides weekly Day Service input in each of the home environments where we develop domestic skills, personal projects and utilisation of the local facilities.
With the aim of securing work placements for our service users, Day Service offers them the use of both woodworking and needlework workshops. The workshop facilities are housed within a working industrial environment at the Sanderson Centre in Gosport. Various set projects are available, but individuals are also encouraged to craft items of their own design. |
