Award Winning Website!
We are delighted to be winners of the Best Charity or Voluntary Organisation Website at the Hants Web Awards for the second year running. This
year the award means even more as we were in
competition with 107 other local charity websites.
The judges said: "A
tremendous resource for those with autism.
Great site. Essential and interesting - easy
to navigate."
Sally Hillyear, Fundraising Manager and Steve
Knight, Multimedia Designer from Big Time pictures
attended the ceremony hosted by Steve Power
at the new Planetarium in Winchester. Sally
says: "It
was very exciting and I felt very nervous as we
were lucky to win in 2007. I was not expecting
the website to win for a second year running. I
think we keep the website fresh and up to date
and a lot of hard work goes into keeping it maintained
and interesting for the people who visit it every
day."

Carry Your Alert Card!
(click for larger images)
The
Hampshire Autistic Society is very proud to
launch the Autism Alert Card. The
cards have been produced by the Society in
partnership with Hampshire Constabulary and
are available free of
charge to anyone with
an Autism Spectrum Condition (subject to sufficient
proof being sent, please see application form
below).
The cards should be carried at all times and
can be displayed if the individual finds themselves
in a situation where they cannot easily explain
their behaviour. It will also assist the emergency
services to identify that they are dealing
with someone with autism. The card will carry
the Hampshire Autistic Society's logo, Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire Police Authority crests so they will be easily identifiable to the emergency services.
The cards give some simple advice, the person's
name and emergency contact details.
