The finish at Milford - the 80th and final race
"Finale" Evening at Kuti's Brasserie (Thursday 24th January 2008)

A full house at Kuti's to celebrate the end of a 12 month challenge of former deputy editor of the Echo 'Dave King'.

The challenge that was presented to a charity 2 years ago turned out to be a great year of fundraising and running. Alongside the 80 races that Dave completed around the British Isles he helped organise a number of fund-raising events including a Sportsman's Dinner, an Old-Style School Sports Day, a lavish reception at Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower and a Celebrity Question of Sport. All soon to become firm favourites in the charities events calendar. He even endured having his legs waxed!!

The audience indulged into a three course dinner buffet, sponsored by Kuti's, whilst being entertained by X Factors 'Aphrodisiac'. Dave was awarded life membership with the charity for recognition of his achievement.

A fantastic evening was had and we are delighted to tell you that all Dave's hard work paid has off with him raising over £14,000 for the Hampshire Autistic Society.

We are looking forward to working with him again as he is organising a 5k Race and Walk on July 5th at Itchen Valley Country Park.
