Brief Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist to work collaboratively with the teaching and residential staff and build on our experience of close working relationships with therapists. The position is 30 hours per week on a 52 week per year contract which is on a permanent basis.

The scope of the work is to co-ordinate and provide an Occupational Therapy service to students as part of the Specialist Support Team at Hope Lodge School run by Hampshire Autistic Society, to liaise with other key professionals and to facilitate multi-disciplinary, multi-agency working and by doing so ensure a comprehensive seamless service. The therapist will also encourage and enable children and Society staff to be involved in decisions about their support and treatment.

The Therapists knowledge of working in autism and across a broad age range would be considered and additional training would be offered to the successful candidate if appropriate. Applicants must be registered with the Health Professions Council. Recognising the need for CPD, a comprehensive package of clinical support and supervision will be provided from the Local NHS Trust. This will supplement the Society’s internal programme of induction and skill development.
